Two more specialties of Binh Thuan recognized among TOP 50 famous food specialties of Vietnam - (05/07/2015)

( On 5th June 2015, Vietnam Book of Records has announced the list of TOP 50 famous food specialties of Vietnam, among which Binh Thuan province has two representative: “Banh hoi long heo Phu Long” and “Mu trom Tuy Phong”.

Banh hoi long heo Phu Long refers to a dish made of steamed fine rice vermicelli, cooked pig’s internal organs, rice papers, fresh vegetables and a kind of special dipping sauce in Phu Long townlet, Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province. Similarly, “Mu trom Tuy Phong” denotes the sap of sterculia foetida in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.

As a consequence, Binh Thuan province now has 8 famous specialties recognized by Vietnam Book of Records, namely Binh Thuan dragon fruit, “Lau tha” - a kind of hotpot made of seafood, herbs and some other ingredients (recognized in 2013), Phan Thiet fish sauce, Binh Thuan’s one-sun-dried squids, Phan Thiet’s “Banh canh cha ca” – a kind of noodle soup with Vietnamese fish cake and “Banh can” – a kind of Vietnamese mini crepe (recognized in 2014), “Banh hoi long heo Phu Long” and “Mu trom Tuy Phong” (recognized in 2015).
