The parade of Nghinh Ong festval 2018 - (07/09/2018)

(Muinetourism.vn).- On the morning of September, 1st, The most important activity of Nghinh Ong festival (Also known as Nghinh Ong Thanh De Quan festival) is the parade across the main streets of Phan Thiet, was taken place. Thousands of locals and tourists had been standing alongside the streets to observe the parade.

At five o’clock in the morning, the parade of Nghinh Ong festival with the engagement of nearly 1.000 people started from Ong pagoda towards Nga Bay. Leading the parade is the people’s group of Quan De Mieu; following behind are the clubhouses of Phuc Kien, Quang Dong, Trieu Chau, Hai Nam…

Besides Dai Ky, Trung Ky, Tieu Ky, unicorn-lion-dragon teams, clubhouses; there were still the teams of traditional folk dancing, traditional musical instrument performance and children which carry flowers; And specially was masquerading as the familiar characters like: Master Duong Tang and his disciples, God of Fortune – Prosperity – Longevity, god of wealth, mandarin’s son and imperial maid, etc

The most attractive part is the performance of a 49-metre long dragon, the longest one in Vietnam; the dragon needs 150 people to carry and control. The festival contains a meaning of praying for the favorable weather, bumper crop and peaceful life”. That meaning was really widespread on the ways that the procession passing. There are many families that presented a tray of food and drink in order to welcome the festival as well as sharing those things with all kinds of people.

Mr. Larsen, a tourist from Australia, showed his astonishment on the interesting and unique futures of the festival. He said that: “Knowing the information through the internet, I and my friends came here from the very early morning. I and my friends were very impressed by this typical traditional festival of Phan Thiet”.
