In the beginning, the pagoda was built to worship “Tieu Dien Dai Si” who, according to folk legend, is an incarnation of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Besides, spirits of ancestors who helped people in the area to live and work in peace and contentment are also worshipped in the pagoda.
In the pagoda’s yard, Ngu Hanh (Five Elements) temple was built to worship five sacred mothers of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth.
