(Muinetourism.vn) - Whoever has come to Binh Thuan may already hear about Ganh Son (or Ghenh Son) of Chi Cong commune, Tuy Phong district. The beauty of Ganh Son is like a mountains-water painting drawing by marvelous strokes of nature.

Located about 70km to the north of Phan Thiet, Ganh Son is actually a small bay with a great number of rocks. Perhaps, the name of this place is originated from rocky posts and cliffs that are as red as vermilion here (“son” in Vietnamese can be interpreted as vermilion or lipstick).
Standing on Ganh Son, you can sense the enormous of the earth and the sky. Looking down from above, you will see the peaceful Giuong – a small fishing village with coracles lying next to the beautiful shore. Far from the distance are imposing cliffs in many colors and strange shapes. It’s just so beautiful, regardless of where you are looking at.
The ochre cliffs in Ganh Son are the result of weathering and erosion for a very, very long time as in the beginning, this is the land of hard red clay. These rocky, gently sloping cliffs is about 20m higher than the sea level. In the late afternoon, when the sun is going down, you can see the red spread out from the beginning to the end of the cliff, and from the cliff to the sun. This splendid picture is what tourists should not miss.

Dawn in Ganh Son is really fantastic as well. Waves patting the boats, flickering water, local people busy with their daily life… together, they create an amazingly peaceful picture. The upper Ganh Son and the lower Giuong village get together to create a marvelous painting. It is often said that “seeing is believing”, that’s why you should come there to see all the beauty of this small but hard-working land with your own eyes.
